Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

Hi Jon98064, I was thinking of selling those bits if the stealth-ram works well. Could be several months before I get to swap it over, send me a pm . The Weiand manifold is good for a heavy breathing SBC but worked reasonably well even on the mild 350 that was in the ute previously. EFI goes a long ...

Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

Not much to update at the moment. The car is semi-retired (hope to get it back on the road with club rego) on the west coast whilst I am on the east coast. Hoping to swap the stealth-ram manifold on at some point, get the CAS and coil packs installed. It gets taken for small runs around my parents h...

Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

Ute was driven ~4500km across the country. Relatively trouble free, except had a blocked fuel filter at Hay, believed to be caused by a batch of fuel containing ethanol cleaning out the tank and all the crud ending up in the fuel filters. Also found the main earth lead a bit loose at one point. Atta...

Re: 1969 Camaro 400CI with 4L80E

Hope the conversion goes well. With the TPI manifold I believe the 84-85 manifold bolts up to early SBC. On the later manifolds the 4 center bolts are at a more vertical angle going into the head but the holes and flange faces where the bolts seat can be modified to fit. This shouldn't be too hard. ...

Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

Here's a picture of the ute with the A9X bonnet scoop (similar to Camaro/Chevelle induction hood) that covers the hole in the bonnet for the air cleaner. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/Car/BonnetandScoop.jpg Since doing the dyno tune and data logging during a couple of long drives I...

Re: Dual TBI on 402 chevy

Hi Ikeman. First of all good luck with the project and don't be afraid to give it a go, the forums have lots of useful info and lots of people who are willing to help. I am not sure about the GM TBI injectors but I found the Holley TBI injectors didn't atomise the fuel enough. This led to fouled plu...

Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

After changing the Hall input circuit to the MSnS E mod the tach signal was a lot more stable. The car would still stall occasionally for no reason. I think the problem was being caused by the low-impedance injectors and PWM. The 85lb/hr Holley injectors weren't very good at atomising the fuel eithe...

Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

Ok, I've been playing with the tune for a little while and have managed to get pretty good performance out of the engine as well as reducing the tip-in. I have found the 85lb/hr injectors too big (I knew this would be the case but couldn't find any 45lb/hr injectors here in OZ) so I have disconnecte...

Re: Holden HQ one tonne ute

I will try to post the settings and maps when I have the tune sorted.
Hoping to get a dyno session with it soon too.
