Re: VR6 Turbo 12valve on MS2-Extra

Hi Lapkritis, I've started the migration from OEM ecu to a MSQUIRT2 ecu because of turbo config. I have one doubt, I've already heared that VR6 have: hall sensor for crank speed, your mods are more "online" with a VR sensor config. a trigger angle of 90° BTDC, in your msq I could read 78°...

Re: ms2 v3 on obd1 2.9 vr6 coilpack

You can build it in another small project box no problem. Where are you located? Check Fry's electronics for connectors and project box. Put it inline and add a key on power line and I think you're set. Should just be 7 wires going into the box: Inlet: Spark A Spark B Spark C Key on 12v+ Outlet: Spa...

I run this on my 12v with the oem coilpack but with the control module removed and wiring the MS directly to the 4 contacts on the coil.

VR6 Turbo 12valve on MS2-Extra

Converted from MS1-Extra and would highly recommend it to other MS1 users. Still a lot of tuning to do but this base will get you going fast. Conversion notes: 1) Added Jumper wire from S12C to JS9 (Per MS2 Hardware assembly notes V3 board) 2) Changed Jumper that was “TSEL to VROUTINV” to “TSEL to V...

Re: 1992 GTi 24v Vr6 on MS1

Yep, combi out to intake manifold over near the breather. The hoses on the engine were all off/missing so I :RTFM: on EGR and quench effect and just plumbed it how I knew it would work getting spent exhaust to the intake. I had the 12v obd1 egr system in mind when I built this one out and it matches...

Re: 1992 GTi 24v Vr6 on MS1

No smog pump equipped on this engine (removed). The combi valve for the egr is what I'm referring to; I ran back to back tests with a day in between with it first inactive and then with it active. Results in grams/mile. Inactive: Hydrocarbons: Actual = 1.76 Carbon Monoxide: Actual = 8.14 Oxides of N...

Re: 1992 GTi 24v Vr6 on MS1

The control is on the front of the cylinder head on the driver's side... there is a vacuum reservoir that the egr and intake change over valve control solenoids hang from. I wired it up as a simple on-off and only use it for smog. Engine definitely feels less crisp when the egr is active.
