cranking problem, BMW with M50B25 running MS I v3

hello, i have a strange problem with my MS I v3 on a BMW 525, M50B25 vanos. when im cranking the engine, i get a rpm signal at 3500 rpm... I have dubbel checked all the wires and the vr sensor is working. the box is made for vr sensor and six coils and tested with stim, so it should be working fine.
