What method are you guys using for the 3 wire PWM idle valve?

True 3 wire control?

Or 2 wire with a 30-40 ohm 25-50w resistor to ground on the close wire?

Hi, I have a 2008 EJ2.5 NA engine with manual TB and sensor rather than electronic accelerator.
Would you recommend a MSII or III for me? I am an EE (retired), electronic tech (until 1970) with much software experience.
I have the engine installed in a 1971 VW and need an after market ECU, trying to use the 2008 ECU would be impossible. (I have been told)
The variable valve timing can be turned on at 3500 rpm, otherwise I dont see any real problems other than understanding what is available.
I would like to follow someone else's pioneering work rather than inventing it all myself.
Any Suggestions?

Loose the throttle-by-wire and get a throttle body that is worked by a throttle cable. The MSII in a v3.0 board can do all that you need.
