Don Church, 1973 Jeep CJ5, 304 V8

Post by donjr5 »

Name: Don Church, Jr
Vehicle: 1973 Jeep CJ5 (more or less)
Engine: AMC 304 ci V8, stock except for Pertronix Ignitor in the Delco dizzy.
Injection: 2V Holley ProJection TBI, Holley fuel pump.
Description: The engine and body tub are about the only parts that are stock/factory on this Jeep.
I did cheat, though…I bought a pre-assembled Megasquirt. It’s running now, just need to fine-tune the VE table.

Update:
The Holley 670CFM TBI is just to big for the 304. I replaced it with a GM TBI from a 305 (40 lb injectors). A little driving around with a friend, a little more driving with a laptop, and WOW! I'm impressed.

I took the Jeep wheeling last weekend. A few suspension issues (I 4 linked front and rear), but the engine ran like a top! Never any problem, no stalls, nothing but smooth sailing.

I guarantee...I speak the praises of my Megasquirt....

I have a 79 304 wrangler and am thinking about tbi it. Will it pay for itself in fuel savings? What tbi systems soul you recommend?
