Ian Turnbull, '92 MG Maestro 2.0i

Post by pictpunk »

Name: Ian Turnbull
Vehicle: 1991 MG Maestro 2.0i
Engine: 1994cc 4cyl 8 valve, few minor tweaks to induction / exhaust, fuel system.
Injection: Much of the stock system was reusable, unfortunately with this efi the normal fuel / ignition modules carried each others functions a little, for example the ignition module on the Lucas system carries the MAP sensor. For the moment I'm still running the idle stepper motor from the old lucas system, all else is now ms. Added sensors is just IAT and O2, enabling me to remove the MAF. Currently running standard 16.7lb high impedance injectors @ 45psi, but soon to change over to 22lb low impedance injectors from a '93 honda accord. Next real changes will be a ported head and ceramic coatings, then I was considering looking into minor induction changes ( twin electric superchargers anyone? )
Description: It drives sweet on the wee roads round here... very positive FWD car, once I've finished tweaking the setup and sorted out some of its odd behaviour it'll be a fine wee mover :)
