Jim Butler - 1993 B2200

Post by Madlowmazda »

Just finished my newest mazda project-

It's a stock b2200 truck, ripped out the old carb engine and installed a Mazda bongo 1.8 FE sohc 12 valve RWD motor into it, EFI! Used MS-1 with stock distributor from carb truck, vac advance. Runs on e85 fuel. Using stock b2200 fi fuel pump. I will probably go bak to regular unleaded, because of e85's corrosive properties to the fuel system, until i upgrade to stainless.

used stock b2200 truck transmission.

The bongo engine is from the bongo van made in Canada and overseas. They had a variety of "FE" egines that where carbed/ fuel injected and diseil. Mine is a 1.8 FE fuel injected engine.

I believe the bongo is the only source for that engine with the 12 valve cylinder head and distributor on the side.
