another success for me this time with an 2.0 16 valve ecotec engine

the engines standard ecotec with the egr removed

running msns-e-highres-0.08f and v3.0 board

we had a few problems with the dispak to start with due to some duff info i was give ( not anybody on the m/s sites !!!)

but after blowing up the dispak everthing was ok

running wasted spark running 2x vb921s
open element air temp sensor
red injectors (245cc/min)
all egr stuff removed and blanked off
standrd ecotec dispak
removed crank sensor and running 8v sensor in its place

it runs a lot better than a standard ecotec engine on vaux managment and pulls a lot harder

thanx to jerry for supplying the m/s and parts

thanx to james and phil with this dispac and vb921s

just joined, this is my first post.

im gony be doin a 16v redtop on bike TBs within the next few months.

where did you get your open air temp sensor?

and whats the down with the coil packs? im not too electronically gifted TBH but if you can explain what the problems you ad were so i can keep an eye out for them id appreciate it.

good to hear that the engine runs better than on the standard vaux stuff.

hello m8 welcome to m/s site u from migweb ???

i got the airtemp sensors from wolfraceing in bedford and from jerry at diyautotune.com (usa)

u will need and extra vb921 to run the coil pack other than that the main problem was that some of the coil packs were wired funny and we couldnt find out what the live was ( they go with a big bang !!) but once we got it right we found out we had blown a vb921 ( not the easyest thing to get over in the uk ) but once i replaced both vb921s and coil pack it runb sweet as a nut

to Screamer69: Pls, is there any problem with the default ECOtec VR sensor ? (you wrote, that you are using 8V sensor on ECOtek). And pls, what are your trigger points for 60-2 C20XE/Ecotec engine ? Thanks a lot.
(I am building MS I Extra on C20XE->LET engine)
